Disgusted with J&G sales

A few years ago my wife and I decided to take a trip to Gerome so I figured to stop by J&G's to buy some ammo. I got salesman who seemed angry cause he had to work for a living. He wasn't happy at all that I wanted a multitude of calibers totaling 4-5000 rounds. He finally came out of the back with a pushcart loaded top and bottom. The salesman rang it up and I pulled out the cash, then he asks me for my DL. He takes the DL and begins entering the info into the computer at which point I stop him asking just what the hell was he doing.

The saleman informs me that it is J&G's policy to log DL info on all ammo purchases, no sales without it. That's not my policy. so I took my DL and went on my way without the ammo.

Over the next couple days I had an extended email exchange with J&G's. Condensed version is that J&G's keeps a database under everyone's name of exactly how many rounds and what caliber each individual purchases from them and if you don't like, then don't do business with them. I don't do business with them.

Sounds like a good enough reason not to do business with them...fug 'em I'll take my hard earned money elsewhere.

Go to STG Firearms in Prescott Valley. It's where I do all of my business and the guys there know what they are talking about. Plus they have great prices, even matching Wal-Mart most of the time, and much better firearms, as well, such as SCARs and REPRs and all that other pretty stuff.

In my experience, pretty much every other gun store in the Prescott area has let me down in one way or another. Except Bucky O'Neils and Bill's Trading Post, they just don't always have what I need and are a long drive for me when STG is so close.

I've always liked J&G, however I don't frequent it because usually their prices are usually too high on what I'm after. On the other hand if you're looking for a Makarov, an SKS, a British Enfield, etc. or surplus ammo it's a great place to go....or at least it used to be.

I second all of Rizzo's recommendations:
Bill's has awesome personal service and a good selection. Same with Bucky's. And so far so good with STG...I really hope they succeed here as they have the nicest toys by far of any gun store in town! On top of all the top flight AR's and such, they carry classIII items in stock, and top of the line 1911's like Ed Brown, Wilson Combat, and Nighthawk..IN STOCK!

Is STG the same guy that would always show for the Crossroads show at the Coliseum selling mostly HK parts and guns?

No, actually I don't. I know the RTG guy you're talking about. I don't believe he is a dealer. I'm talking about STG....I bought a USP45 and some P7M8 mags from him years ago at the Crossroads.
