I usually attend a regular get together at spot .012, which is why I guess I never run into you guys out there.

Is spot 012 just across the cattle bridge where you shoot across the junk-filled canyon? That's my favorite. If so, is it still open?

I haven't been out there in a couple of months, but it should be. The cattle guard marks the boundary of the mining claim and other lands.

Thank you. I'll take the spot next to you when you bring out that .50!

Can you post GPS grid coordinates so I make sure I avoid the "no shooting" area at spot 2?

I am just woundering how Spot 2 can be declaired a "No Shooting" area, but the rest of the other areas are open to shooting. Is this a safety issue, environmental issue? What gives?

The area is a patchwork of private, state and BLM land.

All of the troubles currently experienced stem from the owners of the private land who are seeking to develop it into high-end luxury home sites. The LAST thing they want prospective buyers to hear when they come out there to view the area is all sorts of gunfire. So the developers put the squeeze on their lackeys they own in state and county government to get law enforcement out in the area to run off the shooters.

This is not new. I have lived here all my life, and that has been the re-occurring scenario over and over and over, every time one of the desert shooting areas gets shut down. When I used to go shoot at 43rd Ave. & Happy Valley, we were run out by Az. Parks & Recreation officers. When we were run out of 67th Ave. & Beardsley, it was MCSO. When we were run out of the White Tanks, it was MCSO again. After each of these, developers broke ground within sight of these areas in under 18 months. I already know that I'll get run out eventually from my current spot along 171st Ave. when the economy recovers and the resort community scheduled to go in less than a mile to the east gets ready to roll.

It isn't the LEOs that are doing this to you. Its the land developers, who get their bought and paid for gov't hacks to order LEOs to run you out that are doing it to you. That may be a small difference in some people's minds, but it is worth remembering.
