They oughta shoot the cop who shot the dog, or at least prosecute him for animal cruelty. My dogs are like children to me.

This is a multi layered problem.

Why do we need these assault type raids so often? Psychologically what type of person wants to be a cop who would enjoy doing these raids? What type of person would rather shoot the dog than let someone remove it? Why is that person still a cop? Is that person still a cop?

Stuff like this is happening all too often. Why? We are employing way to many psychos to "protect and serve" and giving them way too much latitude in their duties.

My dog is like..umm my dog. I would be very pissed, and sue as the family did. This is NOWHERE even similar to a reaction "if" my kid was involved. Good on the family for taking the suit all the way, jury did OK but should have awarded more. At least they singled out the officer and supervisor.

I don't have kids, so our dog is more important than that. He guards my wife when I'm at work. He let me know when she was calling for help and I didn't hear her. He keeps our feet warm in bed at night. He keeps the flying rats (pigeons) away from the yard - no pigeon crap since we got him. Best of all - we won't have to pay for college for him!

Pointing a gun at my dog is no different than pointing a gun at my wife or child. My dog trusts me. 100%. My dog would lay down her life for me or anyone in my family. In return she trusts me to keep her from harm. I am the header of the pack. No harm shall come to any member of the pack.

If shooting or killing a Police Dog is the same as killing a Policeman why isn't killing a civilian dog the same?

Double Standard in effect...

It is for me. Shoot my dog and you better spend the rest of your life looking behind your back.
