Welcome to the club. :) Looks like your L1A1 is a 1959 Enfield. That's about as Brit as you can get!

Hard to tell for sure from the photos, but it also looks like it's got a Century receiver. Some folks razz the Century receivers (and they were, indeed, trouble at times) but if yours runs well, it matters not who made it.

So, once the weather clears, how about a range report? ;)

Thanks, mikey.
Aside from my ARs and AK, this is my first ".308" rifle. I havn't fired this one, but have several others before. Aside from gathering ammo and magazines, I been patiently waiting for the day to take it out.

I find the Century's interesting. They're not the valuable collectible, and some of them need a little work to be a good shooter, but they do come around, if the TLC is needed. Also, the varied sources that Century uses for the FAL. Looks like you've got the Brit inch-gun which is different from the metric one I got.

I do enjoy it though...except for maybe the ammo cost.

Truly a great rifle. My brother has one.

I think it is most bad*** semi-auto rifle to shoot, excepting maybe also the BAR.
