Anyone try the sig 522? Caswells had these awhile ago for $350. Now they are around 450-550.

Going back to the tactical Colt .22, my kid loves it because it's so fun to shoot. Only it jambs alot with most ammo, except the tactical .22 ammo they make for it which have worked flawlessly for me. Anybody have any other ammo that works well in these rifles.

My buddy's dad just had his Colt replaced because the lower cracked where the "buffer tube" threads in. He loves the gun, but I agree with the others that the S&W M&P 15-22 is better.

In the manual it describes how to adjust the spring tension for ammo. Manual also recommends high velocity ammo. I had my least failures with CCI HV rounds.

I will have to check on the S&W, my buddy has this colt .22 and he loves it. Nice gun you have there!
Whats the price difference from the Colt to S&W? If I'm not mistaken I believe the Colt runs you about $450?

I ran the S&W, Colt and SIG 522 before making the decision to buy. IMO in contest the SIG 522 was a much better weapon and a better build. Never had a single problem. Accurate and dependable.

I have a colt 22lr m4 also but must be a different production run with some slight tweaks. This one has the safety selector with 90 degree rotation instead of the 180 degree. Not sure what else, if anything, is different. Its a great plinker which I have shoot about 1500 rounds through it in the 2 months I have owned it with no issues yet, used a hand full of different ammo brands. I was a bit disappointed there were a few aesthetic only pieces and that they said the hand guard is proprietary, but I am happy with how inexpensive it was compared to others I was looking at.

Off topic but +1 for the Sig 522.

The Colt and Smith AR22's still look like a lot of fun and good training/experience towards a full sized AR. The only tactical .22 I would really steer folks away from is the Mossberg, though it is the cheapest. Have you seen how you take that thing apart???
