IMHO modified UZI mags are best all around way to go. REAL Israeli military mags are cheap, plentiful and indestructible. Brownell's sells an inexpensive jig for cutting the slot.

You Don't Need a Loader !!!

There's a simple trick for loading UZI mags. Position round over mag lips as you would pushing them in with thumb, but just hold it there with your thumb and whack the bottom with flat of other hand. Inertia pops the catridge in! Works better after you've loaded 3-4 rounds giving it some weight. Once you have and get the knack of it it's EASY and quick. Happy to show you and I can spare you couple mags with slots already cut, have plenty.

One Bullet: Can't find that jig anywhere, and for what it's worth: I have 10 C-Products magazines and now 6 Metalform magazines. I'm set on magazines.

I will try your trick and see if that works better, thanks! It is only the Metalform magazines that I have the problem with. I think the metal follower, being stamped, has sharp edges on the bottom that are digging into the sides of the inside of the magazine when loading. I'll have to take them apart and check that theory.

I have a bunch of CP Mag's that used to give me all sorts of feeding issues. That is, until I judiciously filed the feed lips. They run 99% now.
That being said, my Metalform Mag's have always run 100%.

In the time since my original post I have bought Colt, C-Products, Metalform, and even one ProMag magazines. All work flawlessly with multiple lowers and multiple uppers. I have a Rock River Arms magblock that I move from lower to lower. No problems with anything.

In the end I think the Colt magazines are overpriced for exactly the same thing as my Metalform and C-Products magazines.

...or maybe I'm just lucky.
