Hello Folks,

Zev Nadler here. You may know me as the owner of Desert Wolf Tours.

Ben Kugler and I have generated a list of people that attended Table Mesa Recreation Area meetings and showed an interest in being a part of the solution once the Proposed Plan takes effect. A website has been developed and will be updated daily with 'full functionality' target date of July 15th, 2009.


As you may already be aware, the following will occur on June 30, 2009:

BLM posts on the Web the Environmental Assessment
BLM host another public meeting to discuss the final proposed actions and environmental analysis: Tuesday, June 30th 2009, 6:00 pm, Deer Valley Community Center, 2001 W. Wahalla Lane, Phoenix
BLM continues to accept public comments (email, faxes, letters) on the final proposed action through July 15th, 2009.
If you are a biker, hiker, ATV'er, horse rider, rock crawler, jeeper, shooter, hunter, miner, camper, tour company and yes! even desert tortoise afficianado and you WNAT TO VOLUNTEER your TIME and EXPERTISE, join us and help make a difference as soon as possible. This group is not just for informational purposes...we need folks who are ready to assist.

If you are interested in VOLUNTEERING YOUR TIME and becoming a STEWARD of the Table Mesa Recreation Area, please visit the site as listed below, and fill out the Contact Page. Once we have more data from the folks at BLM, we WILL schedule a meeting in a location near the Table Mesa Recreation Area and get to work.

i have also got 2 emails from the nra on the table mesa road issue.

from what i understand is all the trash that has them considering closing the road.....if you would get a volenteer crew together and go clean the area up i dont think they would be able to close it

I am in for a clean up! Maybe we could get some 4wheel clubs to join in the effort.

Not a new Idea its been done over and over again and within 30 days its trashed yet again.

Cleaning it up now isn't going to make a difference. The plan has been made. There will be a few Designated Shooting areas, with berms and maybe tables. There well be designated single track trails, jeep trails, hiking trails and rock crawler trails. Note that all of these including shooting will be in their own segregated areas.

If you check the site out, you should be able to see where you can shoot in the future. Don't know where they (BLM is going to get the money for it (Maybe a fee to get in), but they are going to do something.

i spend alot of time out in the hills and most of the messes i see are done by irresposible shooters...its too bad a few idiots have to ruin it for everyone...might be a good idea to cary a camera and start taking pics of the culprits and turn them in

Dude, getting shot over it is no good answer either, might be better off remembering the license plate instead. Unfortunately as I have found any time you try and turn someone in for wrongdoing, since you aren't an authority figure yourself the cops aren't really too interested. The only real success I ever had was after finding a stripped Kia I took down the vin# called the MCSO, cop came to my house and then refused to look at the car I found on account of I had my gun on and he would not allow me to show him where it was located unless I disarmed myself, Of course I refused. Took about 8 months for the Kia to get removed.

I heard of another Table Mesa Rd cleanup effort happening soon. Sept or Oct 2010. I'll try to post details if I can find them.

I've never been to Table Mesa, but is part of the problem that some folks just use the area as a dumping ground, and then it just happens to be where folks shoot, so they shoot up the stuff?

Or, is it mostly idiots that bring things to shoot and then don't take the stuff out with them?

I wouldn't think someone would bring a KIA to shoot and then leave it there.
