I sure many of you saw the thread-

I find it interesting that it's always "if someone else coordinates this, I am in". Nobody ever picks the ball up. Here we have at least five people who've publicly said they'd be "in". Looks like you guys volunteered to coordinate the flashmob.

You have a target, you have a list of (likely) materials. You even had someone do some minor scouting with pictures to show the extent of the damage. Who knows what the color/shade of the paint is? How much "wood putty" will you need? How much paint? Are any of the board not repairable, but need replacing? How often does the FS guys drop by there? Has anyone asked someone in construction how many man-hours would be needed...and how long of a project it might be, since wood filler might need time to dry before painting. Etc.

Wanna see this get done? Step up and take charge.

Touche. If no one has taken the ball, I will.

I will provide food, drink and my labor. I also have a little generator, ladders and a trailer to get the gear up there.

I am not a contractor but can follow instructions.

So we need some more laborers and someone with the knowledge of the "how" to fix the holes. A paint sprayer or at least a few paint brushes/rollers and paint. If F4D can still get the paint sample, great.

Who else is up for this. Lets get the people together and then pick a date and get it done.

If you can not make it out there and would like to help monetarily that is cool too. I understand the current economic woes but every bit is a big help.

If there something I have missed please let me know.

Also, I will gladly donate $20 toward the cost of materials for this project. I've never been to Four Peaks, probably won't anytime soon...but this is a great project.

Richard, PM me your address and I'll pop the money in the mail to you.

I'm willing to help with the Labor... And I'm willing to donate $10 towards the materials.

Going to need to know what date this endeavor will be on though as my weekends get booked pretty quick.

I am in too. If it is a day that I have to work I will throw some cash in. Also I don't think any of those structures are wood. They are concrete with wood pattern. If the door is thick enough steel I can weld the holes. How about starting a poll on what day most people can make it?

My son and I are good to go on this as well. We will pitch in a 5 gallon bucket of paint and some painting supplies. I have 8' folding and extension ladders. Just let us know.

Never been to these restrooms, but I'm in as well.

I have my truck loaded up with tools all the time. Ladders, drills, etc etc.

let me know what date to be there. Like most everyone else, Saturday and Sunday are best. I have an air compressor (small 2 gallon) but no generator. Looks like OP has one of those.

From looking at the pics, it looks like we will primarily need concrete patch (can be had in caulk like tubes at Lowes/Home Depot), paint, at least one new door handle, and Men/Women/Handicap restroom signs (I can get those donated). It would be great if someone who lives near there could run out and get more pics. Really list the damage and what we need to bring. Measurements of the signs would be great as well so I can get them made.

I have all the tools, the experience, and the time, just no $$$ for materials and no way to get to the job with all of it.

Count me in if I can be of service.

I'll be headed out there from 35th Ave and Thunderbird.

I have an extended cab Dodge Ram. I can take 3 other guys, and tools, etc etc. The back seat is a little cramped, though. [smilie=icon_lol.gif]

Also, I am a smoker. My truck might smell a little smoky, but if you don't want me smoking while we drive, I won't.

Who maintains the property?

What do they require to accomplish this task?

To be honest, it's most likely against their rules for us to do this.

So what?

With that in mind, it may be best to keep the exact date and time private. IE, exchanged only via PM. I would hate for some idiot to report to the Forest Service when we're going to be there. It would suck to drive out there only to be turned around by a ranger.

Whereas I admire your willingness to do the "Right thing", I personally have no interest in having a Federal record whatsoever.

IMHO several guys in trucks with tools tearing apart and rebuilding the bathrooms will gather too much attention to do this incognito. 8)

It's an honorable undertaking, but I agree that the responsible parties should be contacted for permission to do the repairs. Even if turned down, the offer would really do some good public relations.

I just contacted the Mesa Ranger district where I was directed to Anthony Miller (voice mail). I left a message with my contact info. Stay tuned.

Hey guys, just a quick update.

I am going out to Four Peaks this week with a contractor to get a materials list together. This should also help with what equipment. As far a date, I think it would be good to get out there soon and obviously early in the A.M.

It's great to see the help offered so far. Keep it coming. :D
